Am I the Bird
Collaged over a base of a landscape acrylic painting on watercolor paper reminiscent of water and sky. The flowers are represented by circles cut from vintage papers textured and painted with acrylic paint.
Words on stems typed on paper: "Am I the bird ... Am I the cage? If we can see the cage we are in ... we can see the door ... a way out ... We can leap on the back of the wind ... dip our wings in the rays of the sun ... and dare to claim the sky"
Hand image is cut from vintage paper and is a poem from Longfellow: "In all places, and all seasons, Flowers expand their light and soul-like wings ..." (etc.)
Enjoy the bright colors and celebrate the flight of the free bird.
Painting can be cropped tighter to fit frame.
